DPF Cleaning – Melton Mowbray

What is a DPF and what does it do?

A diesel particulate filter, or DPF for short, removes the harmful particles of soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine to prevent them from being released into the atmosphere. There are several DPF design variants, and some are so efficient that they are almost 100% effective, but problems occur when there is a blockage, and this can present itself in a number of ways:

The engine power appears to be reduced
Fuel consumption is increasing
The stop-start function does not work properly
There is an excess of exhaust smoke
There is a distinctive smell of diesel
